What I Did?
May, what a month! This year it felt like there was a lot of talks about “Maycember” and I get it. However, it’s also been a pretty fun month.
May started in Paris on the tail end of my trip with my mom and my sister. I can’t wait to go back to Paris.
Upon returning it was back to the grind and FAST. A birthday party and fun with friends, experimenting on their Blackstone Grill that led us to determine we needed one. The following week, I had a work trip back to Madison, where I lived for 5 years out of college. I loved Madison, and have so many great memories of living in the city, meeting my husband, and being young and carefree. It was a surreal experience being back, but really fun, despite being for work.
After that trip, and a lot of travel in April and May, it was so nice to just be home for the next few weeks. The days were routine, in the best way. Walking or running in the mornings after drop offs, sports, and snuggles. Cookouts and laughs, Mothers’ Day, and even a girls trip to Newport with some friends!

What I Read?
A slower month, but OOOOH there were some good ones.
Favorites:
Coach Sully - If you’ve read the Lakes Hockey Series, start this immediately, but even if you haven’t start the immediately. Accidental pregnancy, age gap, daddy kink - this was a fun one.
Shield of Sparrows - Of the two fantasy releases this month, this was my favorite, but I still gave both 5⭐️. This takes place in a fictional world with lots of monsters that look nothing like reality. Odessa is betrothed and married to Prince Zavier and moves away from her homeland in preparation for “The Crux.” The mystery and twists in this book were incredibly fun and unlike anything I’ve read.
Silver Elite - Set in a dystopian world where there are “mods” and normal people, Wren’s beloved uncle is killed for suspicion of being a mod, and she is conscripted into the Silver Block under captain Cross. She’s hiding that she’s a mod, and trying to find a way out. I really enjoyed this and cannot wait for the next one.
One Golden Summer - OK. If you held my feet to a fire and I had to choose between One Golden Summer and Every Summer After, I think I’d have to pick One Golden Summer. This book starts after Percy and Sam are together, and Sam’s brother, Charlie, is tending after the cabin Alice chooses to bring her grandmother to for the summer. Alice is a photographer reeling after a difficult year, and she and Charlie strike up a friendship. This book is peak, mature summer romance. I loved it.
Great Big Beautiful Life - I love Emily Henry, and while this book was different than her usual romance, I still found myself loving the descriptions of things, the fun of the romance, and couldn’t put down the book until I discovered the mystery. Alice (another Alice) and Hayden are both ghost writers, competing to tell the story of Margaret Ives, a reclusive heiress who hasn’t been heard from in many years. The story gpes between present and past and follows Margaret’s and Alice’s story. This was a great audiobook because Julia Whelan is a top notch narrator.
Other Notables
Wild Eyes - Elsie Silver can’t really do too much wrong. I loved this single dad romance. It was spicy in the right ways and I couldn’t put it down.
Consider Me - This is rare for me, but this is notable in the sense that I did not love it. I couldn’t get into it, I disliked the characters, and I don’t plan to continue the series. I know friends who loved it, but not me.
What I Bought?
I mentioned it last month, but I am really trying to be conscious about how I am spending this year. My husband has noted on the significant decrease in packages coming to the house, and I’m leaning into cleaning out more than adding to the stuff.
Blackstone - after trying our friend’s, this was a no brainer. We’re obsessed with it, and can’t wait to continue cooking all of the things on it. We’ve done burgers, sausage and peppers, breakfast, and more. I love it.
Underwear - I put out a call for your undie recs a few months ago, and embarrassingly just got around to buying some, and these were what I picked. Very pleased.
New Strength Bands - A necessary purchase for working out at home. You all know I love my Future App (this link gives you a discount) and I snapped my old plastic bands. These are super strong, and I like that they’re not just plastic.
Clothes at The Round Rack - I am a megafan of my local consignment shop, and have found some incredible things there recently. This month, I have a wedding coming up this August, and got a super fun dress. I also got a vintage blazer I am obsessed with. If you’re in the area, stop by The Round Rack.
Who did we chat with?
This month we had some really fun conversations with some inspiring women! Ciji Townsend shared her “burner theory” with us, and Lauren Tetenbaum shared about writing a book and how she was inspired to write about peri/menopause. Danielle Dallau chatted about being a working mom of four and having an au pair, and Minni Marwaha shared about being an entrepreneur and leaning into that phase.
What I Wore:
I take VERY infrequent outfit photos, so find it fun to look back.
