June. My birth month. A fun work trip, a cancelled trip, beach days, a pool mom’s night, our town music fest, and general joy for summer. My favorite season is back.
Also PEPPER BOOKS LAUNCHED! I’ve learned SO MUCH about starting a business, building a business, shopify, etc. It’s been really fascinating, and so fun to build this with my friend, Anna. If you love Romance Books, check out Pepper Books. Each month we bring you 5 curated boxes, and this month, the theme is Western.
Camps have started which has been a transition. I wish all schools were like our preschool. 10 days off a year, that’s it. Hope your summer is off to a great start!

What I Read?
This month. DANG. Some BANGERS!
Favorites:
Problematic Summer Romance - This might be my most favorite Ali Hazelwood to date. I loved this so much! Summer romance, forbidden romance, foreign travels, perfection. Maya, the younger sister of Eli from Not in Love, and Conor, his business partner, are reunited at Eli’s wedding to Rue in Italy, and they haven’t spoken since a falling out. There’s lots of tension, set in the absolute beauty of Italy. LOVED this.
Rewind It Back - I love a second chance romance. Rio and Hallie were neighbors, then best friends, then each other’s firsts. Rio got drafted into the NHL and Hallie’s life fell apart, and they broke up. They reconnect when Rio hires Hallie to decorate his house after she decorated his best friend, and neighbors house. The tension was strong, and I just LOVE the Mile High group!
The Conditions of Will - OK, hear me out. Jessa Hastings writes some beautiful prose and descriptions. I loved the Magnolia Parks series, and I SAVORED this book. I didn’t want it to end! Georgia was sent away from her house after an incident when she was 16 and she returns after many years for her father’s funeral. When she arrives, she meets her gay brother’s sponsor, Sam, making the mistake thinking they’re together. This is a complicated family story, and I just loved the writing and the way it was told so much.
Broken Country - This book centers around Beth who lives in the country with her husband Frank, and one day Frank’s brother shoots a dog who was attacking their sheep. The dog happened to belong to her ex-boyfriend’s son, and the book switches between the current and the past and was just so gorgeously told. There’s mystery, some romance, and I couldn’t put this down.
Other Notables
Out on a Limb - This was an adorable story of Win and Bo who meet and hit it off at a Halloween party, and their one night stand turns into an accidental pregnancy. The relationship that develops is so special and I really enjoyed this book.
It’s A Love Story - This book is notable because I really didn’t enjoy it. I LOVE Annabel Monaghan but I found this main character painful. I really wanted to like this, but just couldn’t.
What I Bought?
Looking through Amazon and the orders I placed online, this was a VERY light month!
Water Bottles - The kids really needed new water bottles. We had a few that were leaking etc. and finally ordered these Owala ones for the kids. So far, we’ve not had any major spills (which was my main concern) but I really like how much water the kids ones fit.
Toilet Covers - I saw these on instagram, and I’m obsessed with these. My daughter always touches the toilet seat when we’re out and about, and it makes me want to vom. These at least protect that in some way.
Target Skirt - I didn’t realize this was hopping on Instagram, but I walked into Target and immediately walked out with this skirt and a matching one for my daughter.
Water Shoes - A camp purchase, but my son likes these a lot.
