July Calendar Review
What I did, read, bought, podcasted, and wore in June
Summer is in full full swing this month. I feel like every year will feel like this - just full throttle chaos and not enough slow summer vibes. I want to give my kids that slow summer feeling, but it also feels somewhat impossible with camps and working full time. I asked my mom about this recently because I was a kid of a dual working parent home too, and she assured me that I did camps, and yes, she felt the same way. I’m hoping it’s just my perception vs their reality.
This month I had a quick work trip, and we did a few weekend trips to RI before our annual family trip to South Carolina. As we speak, the kiddos are romping with my cousins’ kids, enjoying the beach, in a way that we were lucky enough to do as kids.
My son spent his first nights away from us at “grandparent camp” and he had a ball. He also lost THREE teeth in 6 days! His fully toothless smile is sparking so much joy, and I worry that this is the last time he’s going to look “young” to me. I know (rationally) that that’s not true, but dang if I feel him getting old too fast!
This month we had lots of Ooni Pizza, beach days (including a few baby carrier walks for my 35lb barnacle), and slow nights. I’ve spent hours in the water this week with the kids, and I’m so excited to see them growing to love boogie boarding, ghost crab hunting, and playing in the sand.
Also, we hit 100K Downloads for the podcast! It feels like a big milestone, especially since the next “achievement” on Buzzsprout isn’t until 250K downloads! Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who’s listened, been a guest, shared the podcast, subscribed to this newsletter, or left a review! I am so grateful for your support and can’t wait to see what’s the come in the next 200K downloads!

What I Read?
Favorites:
Time of Your Life - If you lived through the heyday of boy bands and super models in the mid 1990s like me, you’re going to enjoy this one. Ysolde and Joah, a supermodel and front man for the hottest boy band out right now respectively, meet at a bar, and it’s love at first sight. They both have baggage, but there’s no denying the chemistry they have. It’s painful to read sometimes because these flawed character continue to flaw, but I couldn’t put it down. If you’ve read Magnolia Parks, there are a few cameos from that world, which was a delight to read.
The DC Stars and Love Through A Lens series from Chelsea Curto have kept me very engaged and I’m loving the depth with which she writes characters. Would highly recommend both series and love that there’s crossover between the two!
Other Notables
Last Night Was Fun - This was a super cute premise, a baseball data analyst receives a text from an unknown number saying “Last night was fun” and they quickly realize he was “wrong numbered.” They start a relationship via text and when they agree to meet, discover he’s her enemy at work. The banter was cute, a very fun read.
What I Bought?
I didn’t buy anything specifically for our vacation this week, but I did buy some bathing suits that I knew I needed, otherwise, a few Prime Day Deals.
Three Bathing Suits - I forget who posted these originally on Instagram, but I really like them. They’ve got a built in bra so I don’t look pancake booby.
Travel Magnatiles - Do my kids need more magnatiles? No. But are magnatiles a toy that keeps getting better the more you have? Yes.
Miss Rachel Tonie - I couldn’t say no to this. My daughter isn’t quite into Tonies yet, and hoping this one will spark her interest!
Sunglasses - $16, polarized, can’t go wrong. I love the color too!
Phomollient Refill - I didn’t order much on Prime Day, but I needed more of this, and it was on a big sale.
New Toothbrush - This was a replacement for my because my old toothrbush was very old, and I desperately needed a new one. Prime Day win here.
What I wore?

Lots of button downs and jean shorts were worn this month - my easy (it’s hot outside but I need to look professional) outfit. Also got a lot of miles in my weighted vest and work travel outfits. Also wore my apron a lot this month doing lots of grilled pizzas outside with the family.
