Five Friday Faves - 9.19
coats, questions, and connections
I wouldn’t call myself stylish, but something about being in New York City makes me want to be. On the streets you’ll see everything from power suits to costumes and no one blinks. My usual WFH suburban-mom fits feel out of place.
This week I was in the city for a team meetup, and I actually put together a few outfits I was proud of - so took some selfies in the shoebox of my hotelroom.

The thing I wore with all of it, my new Barbour x Tuckernuck jacket. I ordered it the second it dropped, and when it arrived it was an immediate f*ck yes. Did I need another jacket? Absolutely not. But some things are just meant to be. I’ve had some of my Barbours since high school, and this one felt like a fun play on a forever piece. The best part: I got so many compliments on it, thank you to the woman who stopped me as I was boarding my (very) delayed flight.
Outside of my jacket bubble, the world feels really heavy right now. In our team sessions this week, one exercise was to ask each other questions. Not surface-level one, but the kind that sparks storytelling, empathy, and real understanding. It was such a fun activity, and a reminder that when the world (or work) feels chaotic, deepening connections with the people around you matters. Trust and understanding go a long way when you’re doing hard things side by side.
So yes, things are crazy, but sometimes the little things like a jacket that makes you feel a little more stylish or learning something new about someone around you, can spark joy.
