Five Friday Faves - 8.8
what I put on and in my face
The other day I posted a pic, with an AMA and a friend asked me to “drop the skincare routine” so here we go. This week’s Faves is all about my skincare routine, makeup, and “maintenance” routine.
A major caveat to the entire below - I am not a skincare expert - my friend Devan is - I just know what works for me.
Skin Care
Morning - My morning routine is the simplest. I splash water on my face, and dry with the Clean Skin Club wipes. I then put on the Vintner’s Daughter Toner followed by their Oil. I am obsessed with these products, and have been using them daily for a at least 5 years. If you’re a fan, I recommend ordering from the website and subscribing because every 6th order is free. I then put on a sunscreen, either this one from Caudalie or this one from La Roche Posay. In the morning, my routine needs to be EASY. I don’t wake up with much buffer before I need to get my kids up, so it’s got to be quick.
Night - I wash my fave with either this Outset Wash or Scrub depending on how my skin feels. I usually scrub if I’ve been wearing makeup, and sometimes double cleanse. I also received a sample of the Vintner’s Daughter Cleanser and I really like it, but it’s not my usual. After that, I dry with Clean Skin Club wipes again, and then I will either put on this Serum and Cream from Caudalie, or my retinol and then Extreme Cream or this cream from Outset. I have a prescription for Tretinoin from my Dermatologist, it’s .25% and I use it ~2-3 nights a week. In the event of a pimple, these microdart patches are unrivaled at taming and under-skin perpetrator.
Make Up
Usual Routine - Most days, I stick to a very simple routine, mostly Merit focused. I use this Stick over my face with this brush, followed by this from Makeup By Mario. I then use one of these blushes (cheeky or apres), and then if I’m fancier for the day, I’ll use this eye liner in Plum. I’ve been using this mascara recently, and I love that it comes off in tubes like my beloved Trish MacEvoy mascara from college. I also always use this brow gel and I swear it’s witchcraft what browgel does. I keep it really simple, and most days my makeup is done in less than 4 minutes.
Treatments
I move my face a lot, and feel like I do it even more when working remotely and staring at a computer. I’ve been told that my face doesn’t hide my emotions well, and I do think that Botox has helped with that. I’d love to be able to control my face more without Botox, but for now I’m happy with my routine. I’ve been going every 4ish months for Botox for about 2 years. I focus on my forehead and around my eyes. I go to a plastic surgeon in Boston who I really trust. I will say, it’s easy to feel the slide to do other things. I did under eye filler once to help with my undereye bags and I really didn’t like the results. Now, I’m very specific with how much Botox I want, to maintain movement and look natural. I want my face to move still, just slightly less.
One thing I have looked into is a peel after the summer, but I haven’t committed to anything yet.

LOL That photo of you is exactly how I feel when I put on make up. My make up expert is my 24 year old sister and she's a little mean about it hahahaha.
