Happy Friday!
If you’re on the East Coast, specifically New England, congratulations to making it to the most fickle of weather weekends, Memorial Day. Some years its just magical and you get an extra weekend of Summer. Some years, it’s the most brutally cold, chills-inducing weather.
This year, we’re experiencing the latter plus a nor’easter. Thanks.
Anywhoo. There are a few things I’m buying to gear up for the beginning of summer!
Bug Spray - Good LORD did I need this. We had friends over this weekend and accidentally stayed outside until the bugs came out and sun went down. I got annihilated by the mosquitos. Including some bites on the bottom of my foot. Truly torture. I bought these and have had great experiences in the past. I really want to get this Dusk Stone from Kate McLeod.
Sun Screen - I inventoried what we had left over from our Spring Break trip and added a few more of these. I also love this for my kids. I got this in Paris, and this is my favorite for my face. I leave a bottle by the door for when I forget in my morning routine and remember when I’m leaving the house, but am too lazy to go back upstairs.
Skin Care - Sunscreen is great and all, but something I hate, is going to bed with sunscreen still deep in my pores. I love this exfoliating bar year-round, but especially during the summer to get the sunscreen off of my body after a day at the beach. After exfoliating, I try to use these these moisturizing bars, and this shower salve is amazing. My lower body tends dry, mostly because I’m lazy in the moisturizer department, and these products make it so easy I have no excuse.
Bathing Suits - For MDW Sales (which start really flipping early) I look out for some good sales for kid’s suits. Now that my daughter is potty trained, and one piece suits are great unless they’re wet. Then it’s torture to get them on and off, especially when you’re an independent 3yo woman. I love this suit from Minnow and I’m obsessed with Boden suits for her. For my son, we love these suits and these, but most from last year still fit. He also always wears a sun shirt, and I often buy the Cat and Jack Sun Shirts.
New Grill - We were at a friends’ house the other weekend and we made burgers on their Blackstone Grill, and when we left, my husband was searching for one. We ended up purchasing one the other weekend, and have been obsessed since. I’ve made a number of meals on it, smash burgers, sausage and peppers, and we have plans for fried rice. We have these accessories, cleaning, and burger stuff, and I would recommend.
