Friends! It has been YEARS since I’ve been this excited about the confluence of TV series. There are so many great shows on right now, and I’m loving it.
Aside from my more active than usual TV life, there has been a lot going on over here! Getting settled in the new role is exciting and daunting. There’s a lot to do, and I’m so excited. The time change is GIVING LIFE to me and my family, we’re spending more time outside, I’m walking the dog in the warmth. The only thing I’m not able to enjoy is the dark mornings. I really hate waking up for my workouts at 6, but I’m doing it. Begrudgingly.
OK. Back to the TV. DANG there are a lot of good shows on right now. Here are some shows we’re loving, and looking forward to all week.
The Pitt - This show on HBO/Max and it follows the staff in the ED through one shift, and each episode covers one hour. If you loved ER or Trauma: Life in the ER, you will love this. Noah Wyle, of ER fame, stars at the Attending and I love him. As I sit here editing this, I’m watching this week’s episode, and so stressed! It covers important topics like violence against clinicians, loss, grief, COVID, addiction - I’ve cried and laughed in the same episode.
Paradise - This show starts out where the president is murdered and focuses on his Secret Service Agent. There’s a huge twist at the end of the first episode, so I don’t want to say more, but we’re loving it.
Running Point - Kate Hudson is trying to prove herself as the owner of her family’s pro-basketball team. It’s funny and cute. A fun little diversion!
White Lotus - A yearly favorite, and this one is focused on the White Lotus resort in Thailand. It starts as all seasons do, with the death of a guest, and we don’t know who was murdered. I’m on the edge of my seat to see who it is, and this cast of characters is suspicious. Very suspicious, and there are a few characters from past seasons.
Love Is Blind - OK, I love Love Is Blind. It’s probably my favorite reality show. It was relatively drama-free season, but I just can’t stop. They are filming in Boston, can’t wait to see how nutso that season gets.
Top Chef - I cannot wait for this season! It started tonight (yesterday if you’re reading this) and I am so excited! The last season was OK, but Top Chef is one of my favorite challenge shows!
EDITED TO ADD - I completely forgot to include Long Bright River in this list - which is one of the show’s I’ve been INCREDIBLY excited by. I loved the book. The author also wrote God of The Woods, and I tell everyone that Long Bright River was better. Amanda Seyfried plays the main character and I cannot wait to see how they adapt the book into the movie!
What’s for Dinner
Sunday.- Grilled Shrimp and Chicken with Rice and Peas - Our chef in Jamaica shared with me her marinade for almost everything, and it is amazing and smells/tastes so fresh. I tried out this recipe for rice and peas, I messed it up, but overall it was really good.
Monday - Vegi Soup with Ham - Using this Soup Mix but added ham
Tuesday - Grilled Chicken and Leftover Rice and Peas
Wednesday - Fajitas - This little packet saved us on Wednesday night!
Thursday - Out with my Husband
More A Day In Her Life:
ICYMI - This week’s episode, features ME. I figured it was time to get a refresh on my last episode in 2023! I talk about dividing responsibilities with my husband, how I’m making time to work out, and the struggles of adult friendships.
One Year Ago - A Day In Her Life with Nicole Newhouse! Nicole is the CEO of Solly Baby and I loved chatting about the joy she was seeing in her daughter in this phase on how she’s embracing self care and time with her husband despite differing schedules.
If you love romance novels, follow something new I’m working on with my friend Anna over on @pepper_books! We’re looking for feedback on our MVP, so would love if you’d take a second to complete this quick survey!
