Happy Valentine’s Day, friends! I hope you’re all having the day/night you want. We are not big on Valentine’s Day in our house, we love to share love, but I’d rather have a dinner at home than a night out. Tomorrow I’m making the Molly Baz Steak Au Poivre with Matchstick Potatoes, just like I did for NYE because we loved it so much. We’ll have a great bottle of wine and maybe even play a board game after the kids are asleep. WILD night. I know.
There are some big transitions going on over here that I’m excited to tell you all about, but yesterday was my last day at my job. I’m thrilled by what’s next, and also embracing a little time off before I start my new one in a few weeks. I’m hoping to share a few more thoughts on this in next week’s newsletter. Job searching, job changing, etc. was really stressful for me (and I am sure for many of you as well) and I’d love to chat more about it.
Below are a few things that have caught my eye or I’ve purchased recently.
Stylest Bathing Suit - OK, I’ve seen these suits all over, and I’ve been very targeted by the Mary Orton Ad. I have been interested in buying one since last summer, and as we’re getting ready for a tropical getaway, I finally ordered one, and I can confidently say the hype is real. I wanted a simple tank, and this delivered. It is SO flattering and comfortable. They’re doing a partnership with Cecil and Lou, and I ordered the matching suit for my daughter. Yes. I am who I am.
shared this the other day, and I immediately ordered this Doen-esque Top. I wore it tonight and really like how it falls. It’s slightly see through, but not too sheer that I would not be uncomfortable wearing it around my kids or my parents.Salt and Stone Deodorant - I’ve been a fan of this deodorant for a while and reordered a sample of different scents, and I really like the scent of this one. I have been using this deodorant for a while, and I usually end up having issues with “clean” deodorant after a while, and this one hasn’t been a problem.
Lovestruck Books - If you’re a romance reader in the Boston area, DO NOT miss this amazing bookstore. I went the other night with
for an incredible chat between Aja and Aliza from about Romance Novels for Non-Romance readers. Last night I went back for a conversation with Ashley Poston (her book Seven Year Split was one of my favorites of 2023) and and Katie Shober (the inimitable Beach Reads and Bubbly). You all know that romance is my absolute favorite genre, and I was smiling ear to ear for both of these conversations! I cannot wait to see what other great events Lovestruck hosts, and will absolutely be ordering my books from there!Cuyana Linea Bag - I have been carrying my Cuyana Mini Linea Bag in red a lot recently, and I love it so much. I always get comments on it. I recently saw a friend carrying the larger size and I LOVED it, and then saw a woman at the grocery store and commented on it again. Needless to say, it’s been on my mind. Do I need two of the same bag in different sizes? Absolutely not. Do I lust after it? Yes. Cuyana is one of my favorite brands, and I also have been loving the structure of this handbag.
What’s for Dinner
Monday - Peanutty Pork and Brussel Sprouts
Tuesday - Mexican Chicken and Rice
Wednesday - Madison’s Favorite Tacos - We like to eat this with hard tacos, but we wrap the kids’ tacos in a soft taco so the taco doesn’t break in their hands. My son is obsessed with “Chalupas”.
Thursday - Out
More A Day In Her Life:
ICYMI - This week’s episode of A Day In Her Life is which Lisa Myers. Lisa is the CEO of Ceres Chill, a company bringing revolutionary products to parents including their Breastmilk Chiller. Chatting with Lisa was so fun, and I loved our conversation about how she became an accidental entrepreneur after a career in law, how she makes the most of the morning drives, and how she gets feedback from her customers. This was such agreat chat, and I know you’ll love it.

Congratulations on the new job! Yay for taking some time off in between. I've been so tempted by that swimsuit as well but their return policy gave me pause...I feel like I'm going to cave eventually though 😂
Wow— congrats on the new job!! Also I am so jealous you went to the Boston book event. I can’t wait to hear about it!
