Five Friday Favorites:
Here are some little things that are making A Day In My Life a little more nostalgic this week:
Merit Eyeshadow - I had been eying these eyeshadows for a while, and during their Black Friday sale, I finally committed. I got the Vachetta and Social Colors and I love them. They provide just enough color and stay all day. I haven’t worn eye shadow in years, so it feels fancy even though it’s very simple to do. I am a HUGE fan of Merit and their 5 Minute Morning is the only thing I use. Highly recommend.
Cashmere Wrap - I’ve had one of these White and Warren Cashmere wraps forever, and I brought it with me to Wisconsin this week, and it was so versatile. I haven’t used it in a long while, and completely reminded of why I love this.
Pearl Clips - I can’t remember exactly who shared these on Instagram, but I had been looking for some clips and quickly purchased them when I saw them. I have been using the middle and smallest sizes and am very pleased.
1SE - I spent two long car trips on this app this week. Since my son was born, I’ve been making a video for each birthday with clips from every day. This app makes it so easy, and I love how they come out. It’s so special to see in a quick video how much the kids have grown each year, which you can take for granted in the daily grind. If I were smarter, I would add to the video throughout the year, but I am not, so I usually spend a few hours near their birthday’s catching up. I finally finished the one for his FIFTH (?!?!?!) Birthday, and I am working through my daughter’s so it will be ready in January.
The Woman in Me - This will be in my reading wrap-up for December, but this book is fascinating. I can’t really rate it as good or bad, but hearing from Britney (as read by Michelle Williams) what actually happened, is so interesting. It is a pick for my bookclub next week, and I finished it in one day.
What’s for Dinner
The priority this week was ease. My husband and I went to Wisconsin for 36hrs to see family, and I prepared some stuff for my parents who watched our kids.
Sunday - Chili - It’s chili season, and this is one of the two recipes we usually make. I love how the blended beans adds texture. This makes a lot too, which makes good freezer leftovers.
Monday - Baked Potatoes and Leftover Chili - Easy way to make a second meal out of cooking once.
Tuesday - Gone - Left my parents some chili
Wednesday - Gone - Left my parents a good jar of sauce and nice pasta
Thursday - Dumpling Daughter - Always
Friday - Ballz and Sauce - Freezer Grossy Pelosi Meatballs and store-bought sauce because I ran out of the Marinara I made.
Saturday - Out
