My friends and I do an annual Favorite Things party, and it’s so fun to see what our favorite things of the year are - you can see last year’s here.
This year, we had a slightly different set up, we each brought two of the same item under $30. This is such a fun and easy get together with friends - especially in January when you need something to look forward to. Our generous host suggested PJs and then ordered in Pizza and Salads (which were delicious) and we had a good ol’ fashioned catch up and then explained our gifts and picked (in birth month order then backwards).
I struggled for a bit to think of something, but ended up going with my VIO2 Mouth Tape. I started being very religious about using mouth tape in November when illnesses were picking up. I don’t know if it’s real or not, but I have noticed I do not get as stuffed up as I used to. I have even converted my husband. We look like hostages with our mouth tape and the Sleep Crown, but we are living. Check out the rest of the Favorite Things below.
VIO2 Mouth Tape - See above. I’m obsessed.
Saie Glowy Super Gel - Two people brought this, so you know it has to be good. This is one I ended up going home with and I really like how it adds a nice glow. I use it on top of my sunscreen in the morning.
Osea Undaria Algae Oil - This came in a travel set with this exfoliating scrub, and I have been loving both so far. This was a favorite last year too.
Kitsch Heatless Curlers - One of my friends is obsessed with these for giving her effortless curls overnight
RMS Beauty Lip Oil - This lip oil is supposedly hydrating and adds great subtle color
Luxardo Cherries and Gummy Nerds - For the perfect Manhattan
Woks of Life Cookbook, Shaoxing Wine - I didn’t get to pick this before it was snagged, but I ended up ordering as soon as I got home!
Hanni Shave Pillow and Megababe Space Bar - If I still shaved (yay laser) I would have picked this! I love the Hanni products! I purchased this Megababe Space Bar immediately and I have been loving this.
Necessaire Body Wash - I love this body wash! It smells so good.
What’s for Dinner
Sunday - Hunters Minestrone Soup - This is a great soup - very hearty and so delicious.
Monday - Chicken and Roasted Vegetable Bowls - I love using the InstantPot to quickly cook marinated chicken and it comes out very tender. I roasted broccoli, cauliflower, onions, peppers, and carrots with garlic, cumin, coriander, turmeric, and olive oil with rice.
Tuesday - Out - If you’re local, we tried Dotty’s in Quincy and it was awesome.
Wednesday - Madison’s Favorite Tacos - This recipe is a favorite in our house. We like ours in hard shell tacos, but those are hard to eat for kids, so we wrap our son’s hard shell in a soft taco.
Thursday - Taco Salad - Leftover taco meat from the night before with roasted peppers, onions, and carrots, rice, lettuce, and tortillas.
