I read something this week on Amanda Goetz’s Instagram that really hit home this week. Overwhelm is not the opposite of happy.
I think I’ve said it in the last few newsletters, but it feels like things are at 60-80mph recently, which is good because I am genuinely excited about it all, but I also feel this constant “not enough time in the day” feeling.
I’m overwhelmed, but I am excited. I can be happy while feeling overwhelmed.
Two things can be true.
In this week’s episode, Jessica Padula talked about dropping balls, and making sure she’s not dropping the same ones consistently. I’ve been thinking a lot about that since we recorded and trying my best to choose the right ball to drop in the right moment.
And today, that ball is this newsletter - well really, it’s the gift guides I was hoping to get out to you today. It’s just not going to happen. I prioritized date night with my husband, and it was just what we needed before the holidays truly ramp up.
Maybe the gift guides will come out this weekend? Maybe we’re gift guided out in this longest “Black Friday” season that’s ever been. But either way, today it’s ok.

More A Day In Her Life:
ICYMI - This week’s episode with Jessica Padula is such a great one! Jess is the VP of Marketing and Sustainability at Nespresso USA and mom of two. She shares so many great insights on how she balances her busy career, work travel, and family, while making time for herself. If you’re a working mom, this one is not to be missed. A huge thank you to Jess for being a guest, and for being so incredibly supportive!
One Year Ago - A Day In Her Life with Sandy Ko! Sandy is the founder of Customer Contact Women and lives in New Jersey. I loved hearing about how Sandy uses her commute and builds rapport with her team. Sandy’s career evolution from music to relationship building was fascinating!
I opened up the group chat for A Day In Her Life, and I would love if you would hop in there! This week I want to hear about what you’re cooking now that it’s cooler.

Just this week, I heard a great spin on the juggling ball analogy. If you're going to drop a ball - and you will, we always will - make sure it's a rubber ball and not a glass ball. Some balls can be dropped and they bounce and land in a corner and you pick them up when you can. It's fresh in my mind and been so helpful for prioritizing lately.
