Small things sparking big joy
This was one of those weeks where I think “I’ll laugh about it eventually” but we’re not quite there yet. Instead, these are some things sparking major joy this week.
This salad. We went to lunch at Via Carota when we were in New York (a pro move if you want to get a seat) and the salads blew us away. This one in particular, so simple and so delicious, was out of this world. Find friends when you travel who want to eat the food you want to eat. I also love the Via Carota Cookbook.
When I was in New York two weekends ago, Andrea Wightwick and Jess Alayne were glowing, and when I asked them their secrets (aside from good genes) they were both using Jones Road Beauty. I hadn’t even thought to go into a store, but Jennifer B inspired me, and I ducked into the Upper East Side store when I was back in NYC this past weekend. I’m obsessed with the What The Foundation, it looks so natural, doesn’t feel like I have anything on and is so hydrating. I also got the Neutralizer Pencil and Face Pencil. While I’ve loved the Merit product for so long, this is the first combo that really feels like it covers my eye bags. And now that I finally know how to use the Miracle Balms, I love them, I have the Flushed, Bronze, and Happy Hour. There’s a 20% off sale right now, which I did not benefit from, but if you’ve been eyeing it, I can highly recommend.
This simple little spray, originally found via Julia @smarterinasec makes every shower a dream. I don’t need much, but an indulgent everything shower where I can block out the world is pretty elite in my opinion. There have been a lot of showers this week, and this makes it feel like a treat.
I know these shoes are everywhere, but my pair were delivered while I was in NYC and I have to say, they’re worth it. I have a minor clog obsession, but I love that these are washable(!) structured similar to my Boden clogs and “always open” for my feet. I wear clogs most mornings for drop off, and ordered these on sale in October. I got the Chestnut and they’re back in stock and on sale now - as Christina Tumminello will say, there’s always a sale.
It’s no surprise that I love Cuyana, but my love is furthered this week by their commitment to the quality of their products. I was gifted the Travel Set by family years ago, but the inside liner of the bags started to peel. A friend suggested reaching out to them - despite it being past the return window and warrantee window, and they are replacing the bags. I love when a company stands by their products, and furthers my love for the brand.
This week, in one of our many adventures, we needed something to occupy my son, and I downloaded a Dog Man book to my Kindle App on my phone from the library. I was so impressed by the UI and how it made the graphic novel more fun on the Kindle, by focusing scene by scene. We were laughing with each other reading the book. It made me add a Kindle to my son’s Christmas list this year!

More A Day In Her Life:
This week - I loved this week’s chat with Andrea Wightwick - truly such a great conversation. Andrea is the big sister you wish you had, especially as she’s navigating raising competent, confident teens, and I’m still in the early kid phase. I loved hearing how she’s off Thankgiving, how they’ve managed tech and entering the “coach” phase rather than the “referee” phase of parenting.

Argh I have been dying to try these Jones Road products but there's no store near me and I'm so hesitant to guess my color! May be worth it though...
That shower spray really is the best!!! 🚿🧘♀️
