Cheers to the Day after Halloween 2024. I hope you’re thriving not just surviving! This week was a doooooozy with travel home with kids, a 26hr work trip and then Halloween. I need a nap.
This week’s favorites are a completely random smattering of things that sparked joy this week.
Everlane Utility Pants - I am usually a “soft pant” person when I travel, but I flew in to and from Minnesota in these, and I was so comfortable. These pants are stretchy and soft, but are “real” pants. I’ve worn them with sweaters, a cropped denim shirt, and tees. I’m tempted to get in olive too. I like the big pockets when I travel so I have a place to put stuff!
Harry Potter - I finally(!) started the Harry Potter books with my son, and I am SO delighted (also completely hoping he loves it as much as I do). He insisted that all of his friends were watching Harry Potter movies, and I reminded him that he cannot watch any movies without reading the books. I initially bought this set of 7 books, and then friends recommended the illustrated versions. We were loving those and then a friend showed me the Minalima Illustrated versions, and naturally I bought that too. We are BIG Harry Potter fans over here (well I am and my son is quickly becoming one) so I have no qualms about now owning 3 copies of the same book.
Mini Magnatiles - These are the BOMB. I bought these little packs for dinners/restaurants with my kids, and then upgraded to this set for longer traveland they’re so nice in a rental house! My kids (and I) could build with these for hours, and these are so much smaller than the regular tiles, it makes it reasonable to build at a restaurant or in an AirBnB without too much of a mess.
Training for a 5K - I am “training” for a turkey trot. I am a casual runner at best. I ran a half marathon when my husband and I first started dating, and I hated it - he was so much faster! I have wanted to get more into running distances that are easily attainable for my lifestyle and when a friend said she was training for one, I jumped. It’s so running with a friend, but also loved the excuse to go for a run while we were on vacation. I have been listening to the “Hype Running” mix on Spotify, and I find myself singing out loud! Also, if we’re talking about running long distances, everything send some good juju to my best friend from highschool running the NY Marathon this weekend! Run like the wind, CQC!
Multi-Charger - I found this via Jennifer, and it’s been a savior recently! It’s so nice to have a charger that can do (almost) anything, without three separate cords. I charged my watch and my phone in the airport before we took off.

More A Day In Her Life:
ICYMI - I loved chatting with Lindsey Stanberry on this week’s episode! It was so fun to hear about her “organized chaos” and how she savors an early morning treat and enjoys a nightly routine with her family. Lindsey’s substack The Purse is one of my favorites, and if you’re interested in subscribing, send me your email, and I can gift you a month-long subscription!
One Year Ago - A Day in Her Life with Lindsay Cadigan! Lindsay is the Director of Events of Boston Magazine and is a children’s book author! She is also the mom of twins and talks about how she makes time for a busy career with often unusual hours, and making time to write her book! Such a fun listen!
Colleen Kavanagh from Episode 6 - the way way back - was selected for the 40 under 40 by MaineBiz! Colleen talks so much about the importance of wellness practices in our episode, and if you’re new here, this is a great episode! Congratulations, Colleen!!!
I opened up the group chat for A Day In Her Life, and I would love if you would hop in there! I will share weekly prompts but would love for you to ask questions of others!
I had a personal goal of getting 100 Podcast Reviews by the end of the year! AND I clearly should have made that goal higher because WE DID IT!!! We have 68 Apple Podcasts and 32 Spotify Reviews! THANK YOU to everyone who’s left a review! I am ordering some podcast merch and will be giving away to 5 people who’ve left narrative reviews! If we get to 125, I will double that!!! Can we do it?!

I have the same Harry Potter strategy over here! I haven't watched ANY of the movies since having kids because I want so bad for them to read the books with fresh eyes and voraciously tear through them. I'm kind of micromanaging, but I prefer to believe I'm making a huge sacrifice so they can enjoy the story - haha!
