lots of compartmentalization
From cosmetic bags to pouches, I always feel more organized when using smaller bags in my bigger ones - both in my every day and when traveling - you know my obsession with packing cubes.
I always have a pouch with my essentials in whatever bag I’m using. It makes transferring things to different bags so easy, which in turn, has actually has me flexing my bag collection more recently (side note, I need tips on storing bags because I feel like there’s a better way to do it).
Anywho, I’ve rounded up some of my favorite pouches for various purposes, price points, and projects, in the event that you too are in need of some compartmentalization - whether it be in your purse or just some shopping to distract from the dumpster fire in the news.
Cuyana Small Zipper Pouch - This is my go-to pouch these days. I use it in most bags, and I love that can also double as a clutch in a bind. The quality (as with all things Cuyana) is great, and it’s held up incredibly well, and would make a great gift. It usually holds - my power bank, extra hair clips, a lip color, my wallet, and car keys. I’ve had my eye on the Mini Zipper Pouch for smaller bags.
Liberty Square Pouch - I saw a really cute Liberty of London fabric bag recently, but the price point was out of my range. I started searching on Etsy and found these adorable ones that can be monogrammed. I might get my daughter one of these too to organize bows.
Clear Pouch - I’ve got these for both kids in both the small and the large to organize things for travel. I like that they’re see through and we can find things easily. The large is really big though, and we tend to use the small more.
Cuyana Travel Set - The liner of the original travel set I have from Cuyana disintegrated, but I still use this every day as my makeup kit. I want to get the new ones with the leather liner, and they’ve been on my list for a while.
Weezie Cosmetic Bags - These are adorable and well sized. The large is really big, but I love the idea of a matching set of these!
Oso and Me - We have this bag we got as a set with a colored pencil kit for the kids, and I love that it fits a small drawing pad, colored pencils and stickers. This is also a great super flexible bag for toys and the kids don’t have any problems with the zipper.
Baggu Pouch Set - You never know when the need will strike, and these Baggu pouches have some adorable patterns and are machine washable. Super convenient for if you need to store some nasties.
Amazon Pouches - I have far too many of these to count, but they’re amazing. I put puzzles and games in these when the boxes break, I use them to store projects like needlepoint and knitting. I use them for snacks in my bags, though I might need to upgrade to the Baggu sets. I use the biggest size to store legos. I love them.
What’s for Dinner?
I’m working really hard on increasing my protein intake these days. I’m still trying to figure out what works, but I’m still on the same lunch this week - Turkey Breast (I’m roasting one on the weekend), Apple, Mustard, and Arugula wrapped on a Lavash. It’s really delish.
Sunday - Beef Tacos
Monday - Butternut Squash Tortellini soup - I was going to make something else, but it was cold and I wanted soup, so took this out of the freezer.
Tuesday - Chicken Breasts with Sweet Potato and Cottage Cheese
Wednesday - Terrible meal - I put chicken in the instant pot with salsa and it was awful - very disappointing.
Thursday - Shrimp and Sausage Rice Pilaf from Half Baked Harvest Super Simple
