Five Friday Faves - 10.10
Random Friday Thoughts
Meal Prepping - I came into this week on a tear, I felt organized and ready for the week mostly because of all of the meal prep. I love the fall, and something about weekend days back at home makes me want to fill my fridge. I shared below what I prepped, but having things ready has really helped me eat more protein during the week.
If I don’t prep anything for lunch, I either forget to eat or grab something far less nutritious than I’d like—then I’m hungry (or hangry) by dinner. Do you have any go-to, high-protein, easy lunch ideas? Drop them in the comments!
Good (bad) TV - This season of Love is Blind is so cringey, it’s shocking. Love Is Blind is probably the only reality TV show I watch consistently (GBBO is reality, but it doesn’t feel the same) and wow, this is a new low. Where as the MN season was boring, this season is unhinged. And are they editing it differently? Feels a bit “dirtier” than past seasons. Are you watching?
Getting Dressed During the Week - I’m continuing to work on getting dressed more and I’ve been doing better this week. Including some business on the top, party on the bottom. It’s so nice to get into my fall clothes.

Mid-week Day Off - We had three appointments for our kids on Wednesday, so I took the day off to basically be a chauffeur. Two of the appts got cancelled, but I still took the day off. It was nice to have the morning to do the things I wanted to do, like swing by the needlepoint store and get some new projects, catch up on Pepper and ADIHL and get my phone fixed. Retirement sounds kind of nice sometimes.
Hobbies - I’ve been doing the Bright Method with
and it’s been great! I’ve been using my newfound calendar clarity to make sure I’m carving out time for knitting and needlepointing. My hobbies are the first thing to go when the going gets tough, but doing a few minutes at night is really sparking joy. If you’re looking for a hobby, let this article push you over the edge to finding one. If you want to know where to start on needlepointing or knitting, I’m happy to help! What’s for Dinner?
I’ve been trying hard to prep ahead. This weekend, I made a lot of freezer foods to prepare for the week/lunches.
Prepped - Smoked a turkey breast, double Recipe of these Biscuits and this recipe into muffins (and I add chocolate chips, Soup, and Enchiladas over the weekend.
Sunday - Enchiladas (made 3 two person portions and froze 2) - I need to share this recipe
Monday - Butternut Squash and Sausage Soup - froze some
Tuesday - Salmon Salad Nicoise - just used salmon instead of tuna
Wednesday - Peanutty Pork and Brussel Sprouts from Caro Chambers
Thursday - I just took a bunch of things out of the freezer and we had a mixed up dinner
